The interview given by a senior lecturer of the pathological physiology department of AMU to "Physician" newspaper (issue # 19 28.05.1991) about Prof. Nadir Ismayilov

Professor Nadir Ismayilv is a unique psychotherapy specialist. For many years he has been providing lectures in "Blilik" (Knowledge) society, conducting mass hypnosis and suggestion sessions and giving this with therapeutic purposes. The recent therapeutic sessions conducted by him in the club named after Shakhriar made a great impact. Numerous appreciation letters sent to him endless gratitude speeches made from the stage during the meeting undoubtedly prove that. The sessions have been conducted on the high level. This success has been provided not only by scientific interaction made by N. Ismayilov but also by the skillful hall decoration and appropriate musical background. With very few exceptions, we have witness the total impact on the whole audience. In the end prompted by N. Ismayilov command every one was leaving the meeting at once in good mood. People, who participated in the sessions several times reported significant improvement in their conditions and relieve of their morbid signs.

Eurasian Paten Organization recommends implementation of the invention, made by Azerbaijani scientist on the continent. Professor Nadir Ismayilov is the first among our compatriots, who's been awarded an international paten on psychiatry and psychotherapy. Nadir Ismayilov, Processor of Azerbaijan Medical University, doctor of medical sciences, Azerbaijan Psychiatric Association president, fellow of the US Psychotherapy Academy, international expert on general and forensic psychiatry, has been received a letter from Eurasian Paten Organization. It's noted that there are several organizations like this in the world. The letter sent by Eurasian Paten Organization notes that the results of the scientific research, made by Nadir Ismayilov, has not been done by any scientist in the world and thus this scientific work has been recognized as an invention and awarded a patent.

I have participated an psychotherapy session, provided by the Prof. Nadir Ismayilov and felt what is hypnosis. I felt slight tension in the thorax, restless in the eyes, they were winking frequently regardless of what the processor's doing. The psychotherapy session was going on, my heart was besting stably, my breathing was continuous. What was that? I felt like I was getting fat, my legs and body were enlarging. After the session I recalled A. Kashpirovsky's session. Despite staring on the TV repeatedly nothing had happened. Bu this time the effect was obvious.

The textbook is covered the main parts of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, it has good readability and has to be noted for its modernity. One of the most valuable features of the book is objective review of the great Freud's theory. The book's glossary and index adds values in its importance.

Every monograph, textbook or scientific article written by him is noted by its uniqueness. The conclusions he made on his analysis and generalization are always attracted a great interest. All this can be attributed to "The clinical psychology and psychotherapy" textbook and I make this note with great honor. It should be noted with great pleasure that this textbook, which has been the first of its kind in the Azerbaijani language, differs from this type of textbook, written in foreign countries. The difference is not only in terms of the textbook structure, but also with regard to the new viewpoint on the problems. I consider that this book should be regarded as valuable education recourse not only by physicians and Medical University student, but students of the psychology faculty of Baku State University as well.

Notions made by Prof. A. Abbaskuliyev, scientific advisor of psychiatry department of AMU, honored science worker, doctor of medical science, about Prof. N. Ismayilov In 1983 I was a scientific advisor of Nadir Ismayilov, who successfully defend his doctoral thesis on "Immune aspects of schizophrenia course and pathogenesis" in the Social and Forensic Psychiatry State Scientific Research Center, named after Prof. V.P. Serbsky. The content and structure of the doctoral thesis of Nadir Ismayilov was so liked by academician A.V. Snejnevsky, the chief of Moscow Psychiatry Scientific Research Center of the USSA, that he and two of his deputies initiated scientists, who worked on their doctoral thesis on that time, and show Nadir's doctoral thesis as an example of excellence. This event pleasured both me and N. Ismayilov greatly. After the discussion of the doctoral thesis, the this that pleasured me even more as a scientific advisor was that facts that one of the doctoral thesis's opponents academician from Estonia Y. M. Saarma congratulating me noted that N. V. Ismayilov's doctoral thesis was the best among the doctoral thesis he recently had been opponent for. I have to note that the scientific and social activities of N. Ismayilov were appraised very much. As a result, he was appointed as the Chief Psychiatrist of the Republic in 1984. He was also appointed in charge of development of "Psychiatric services Low of Azerbaijan Republic"
